Ritzy's puppies to Santee -2 weeks old

25th of May 2020
We are 2 weeks old!
We all weigh over one kilo, we can walk (a bit) and we can be very noisy!
The humans gave us some pink liquid today, it was called worming. It didn't taste as good as milk but it was okay.
Red and Yellow. Yellow is sitting up.

28th of May 2020
We are 17 days old.......
and we are hungry!
Ooooh, what's this??
It tastes nice!

Yellow didn't quite catch on

Come on sis, this is great!

Aha, Yellow is having a little sniff of what's fallen off the plate.
(It's beef mince.)
She got the idea

Not much left!

Black picked up pieces of mince and took them aside to eat.
Ritzy came back and was disappointed that the puppies hadn't left her much mince!

Now what shall we do?

I know, said Red, let's try getting out of the box!

And later, during the night, she did climb out!
The next day, the 29th of May, the humans opened the box up.
Note how clever Black got out and managed to get his mum and her milk all to himself!

Today we had more food -this time something called "complete" food, whatever that means.

It was alright with us!

Then we went for a little walk!
Apparently somebody called Dana was the one who ruined the floor.
It wasn't us!

More food!

Ritzy wants to come back in so she can have some of the puppies' food too!
The box is open so we can do what we want!

Oooh, a visitor! That's a strange looking Malinois?

She seems friendly!

Hello Red, my name is Lottie and I'm a Poodle!

Hello Blue!

Ritzy's puppies to Santee -the second week

One week old on the 18th of May 2020.
All pups gaining weight nicely.
19th of May, 8 days old.

The collars have to be adjusted on almost a daily basis now, that's how much the pups are growing.
***
21st of May. 10 days old. Here we were sleeping and dreaming very peacefully. Yellow and Black.
Red, with Blue's paw on her head.
Blue, feeling a bit warm in the summer weather.
And then the humans WOKE US UP!
And Black said "HELLO, I CAN SEE YOU NOW!"
And we were weighed and had our nails trimmed and then we all got new collars.
Yellow said: "Why can Black see when I can't?"

Blue said "I'm starting to see a little!"
But Red, Red was so angry at having been woken up that she made a lot of noise and would not stay still and NO WAY was she going to have her photo taken up close.
We call her "Angry Pup". That's not bad, it's good for a little Malinois pup to be bold and determined.
When Red was put back in the whelping box she walked off in a huff.
"Out of my way, Blue!"

Yellow went back to sleep.

Blue was getting tired.

And Red started to feel sleepy as well.
